Creative workshop

The creative environment where new artistic ideas are born!

The creative workshop is central to the museum’s educational activities. We offer workshops for children, teens and adults in which participants get the chance to experiment with a diversity of artistic techniques and materials. In the creative process, we encourage participants to experiment in order to find their own pictorial expression and sculptural forms. On the basis of varying themes, with inspiration from the collections and the temporary exhibitions, each participant gets the opportunity to explore his or her own creative process and to experience undemanding creativity.

3/11: Textile Art
In the museum we look for sketches for works of art in textiles. Marianne Richter's many meters high sketch inspired by mussels and Hilding Linnqvist's weave about Swedish sailors. In the workshop we work with textiles and glues or sew our own textile artwork.

17/11: The artistic process
How do artists do works of art? What thoughts, stories and feelings are behind a work of art? We look at the creation process in several stages, from small to large. After the showing, we make our own sketches, which we then shape into clay sculptures.

1/12: The magic of light: Painting on glas
Many artists have made paintings on glass. We are inspired by stained glass windows at the museum and look at magical effects as the sun shines through them. In the workshop we create our own transparent artwork by painting on plexiglass.

15/12: Fragments that becomes art: Mosaic
In the museum we look for sketches for works of art made of mosaic. We look at Bazaines blue mosaic inspired by water and sketches for mosaics large as houses. In the workshop we make our own mosaic works with stones, glass and ceramics that we print into clay.

Warm welcome!
