TALK: JOCKUM NORDSTRÖM - one of the most acclaimed contemporary artists in Sweden. He is best known for his signature mixture of collage, painting and drawing. Throughout his practice, Nordström depicts scenes from maritime lore and folk stories, replete with intriguing figures, animals, plants and architecture. At Skissernas Night Jockum Nordström will be interviewed by Katarina Wadstein MacLeod about creativity and creative process.
Katarina Wadstein MacLeod is a professor in Art History at Södertörn University, Stockholm. In her research she has focused on the impact of representation. She graduated in 2006 with a PhD in art history: Lena Cronqvist: Reflections of Girls (Sekel förlag) University of Lund.
LIVE ACT: ECHO LADIES - swedish trio and rising star in the shoegaze universe. A perfect mix of guitars, synths, drum machines and vocals convey the feeling of nostalgia and hope for the future, mixed with worries and concerns about defining who you are and what you will be.
PERFORMANCE: THE SWEDISH SOUNDPAINTING ORCHESTRA - a multidisciplinary performing ensemble. The group explores the medium of soundpainting to create performances in real time. Each artwork is born in the very moment of performance, and it exists only while a performance lasts: the unexpected is at the core of the compositional process and every expression becomes integrated into the work.
Soundpainting is the universal multidisciplinary live composing sign language for musicians, actors and dancers. The language comprises more than 1200 gestures that are signed by the Soundpainter to indicate the type of material desired of the performers.
LIVE ACT: VINCENT BAHAR - poet and musician. Bahar opens the door to an undiscovered mystical space where experimental ambient drones merge with traditional Persian instruments and timeless spoken poetry in epic compositions.
PERFORMANCE CROQUIS: FÖRDÄRVET - a performance art collective consisting of six artists sharing a studio space in Malmö. Fördärvet works interdisciplinary with form and alternative ways to show theatre, dance, music, installation and film.
ARTIST TALK: HAROON GUNN-SALIE & ALINE XAVIER MINEIRO
